Do you find yourself not as excited about the things of God? Is there a lack of prayer? Or perhaps other things have taken precedence in your life. This scripture implores us to keep that passion for the Lord. The bible warns us of being lukewarm. Neither hot or cold but somewhere in the middle. It is easy to become lackadaisical in our relationship with the Lord. The world has a way of luring you in and causing you to be consumed with what is going on around you. Getting distracted and losing our focus on God.
We must fix our eyes on Jesus. Why? He is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus has made it possible for us to be a part of the family of God. We are sons and daughters of the Most High. When we think on Jesus and what He endured as He was persecuted and suffered an agonizing death, but pressed on until the end. Jesus’ sojourn as a human, walking this road, knowing all the pitfalls of sin but came out victorious because He did not yield into temptation. We can do the same because of Him.
Let us keep the Lord first place in our life. Be wise and know that the distractions will come. Prepare yourself for the onslaught of cares that will come your way. They will come but they do not have to stay. Remember the word of God that says to cast your care on Jesus because He cares for you. Just like a fisherman cast their nets on the water. Cast means throw, get rid of those cares. Let Jesus carry them.
When we think about how much God pursues a relationship with us, you cannot help but to feel passion for Him. That love He has for us is just indescribable at times. Even the words that you may say to describe God’s love does not seem sufficient. It leaves me speechless at times and just want to weep. Let that stir you to action. Let that ignite that fervor for the Lord. Serve Him with gladness.
Eagerly waiting to praise you
Dancing in the Spirit
To the beat of my heart
The rumble inside bursting out
Flaming with Hallelujah
I am gone
Lost in the gratitude I feel
Towards my Loving Abba Father
If I could speak in every tongue
Each one would praise you
The stream of adorations would never end
