Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

There is a song that comes to mind when I read this verse in Proverbs. The lyrics are "And I know that when He sees me, It won't be beauty that He longs to hold. It'll be the love that He finds inside my heart" I really want to have the love of God shining from my heart. Love shows up in so many ways. It overlooks faults of others. It looks at the best in people. It is considerate. It is self-sacrificing. We have the love of God within us when we receive the Spirit of God. We are born again. A new person. We can love the way God loves.

There is so much focus on the exterior and not the interior. The heart of a person counts. It is the real you. It is what matters not physically attractive one is. The outside beauty will drift away. People place importance on that by purchasing all the lotions, potions, gizmos and gadgets to make themselves look they came from the fountain of youth. Fillers with this lifted and that faded away. But where is the attention to the inside? The character of a person is what makes them truly beautiful.

Waking up from the depths of inner turmoil

The message is clear

Do you want to remain in this struggle?

Or do you want to escape?

Too many times I listed

All the issues I have seen in the mirror

Projection of my reflection of rejection

The pay off is loneliness and grief

Going far beyond what my mind can grasp

Out comes a agonizing cry

Can trouble now cease?

Up I look and I recall

Bonded by the blood

Cleansed by the word

Gone are the woes that happen at night

The darkest shadows disappear
