2 Timothy 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Eyes wide open. That is the conquest. As we pray for others, let us remember that people need their eyes open. Not natural eyes but their spiritual eyes.

Have you ever conversed with someone and shared the truth of who God is and they just do not seem to comprehend? To us it looks like the truth is plain to see. For them it seems hidden, lost even. The enemy has deceived them. Everything he is about is a lie. The deception is real and needs to be lifted.

I get excited when I see people set free. It thrills my heart. I think that is part of the reason I get so excited to pray with someone. I like to see the breakthrough when they really are delivered. I know what it is like to be bound. I had sinful habits and struggles that were hard to shake. The pursuit of total freedom caused my inner strength to not call it quits. Jesus said that He came that they might have life and life more abundantly. Well by golly I plan on having that kind of life.

I want God’s will in my life, not the enemy’s will. He wants us to be under his influence but we have to resist him. Have you seen the movie “Rise of the Guardians”? There is this character named Pitch who was nefarious. He reminded me of the devil. At one point in the movie, all the characters ignored him and guess what happened? His powers were diminished. He lost his control and poof vanished away. Focus on Jesus who is the ultimate champion. He never loses and he had transferred that power to us.

Hidden behind a cloud

Step out from this haze

Clearly see the Son

The Victor of all heaven’s armies

Peel away that dangerous grip

Wake up solder and be strong

We can win another as we pray

Diligent is the measure we use

The word will give life

Deliver the broken and barren

Miraculously the stony heart becomes flesh

Alive and free!
